Workshops and Classes

Click here for info on Basic Blacksmithing classes which are offered twice a year and run with weekly meetings for 10 weeks for a cost of $250.00.

Workshops are offered through the Fall, Winter, and Spring and are usually held on weekends at the groups facilty on the Miami Co. Fairgrounds in Troy, Oh [MAP].

Please note that you must be a SOFA member to attend classes or workshops. ($20.00 a year.) Be sure to send your completed membership and workshop application form along with payment.

You may pre-register for workshops and reserve a space by providing a down payment of half the workshop fee using the registration form. You must pay the remainder prior to the workshop by mail or in person at a regular meeting before the workshop. If you are not able to attend there is a $25 non-refundable registration fee. Remember, our workshop instructors are professional smiths who make a living doing this work and often travel significant distances to offer their skills and experience. When you fail to show, you not only deny the instructor the income from the workshop but also waste one of the limited seats. So, full payment is required before the workshop.

Registration forms can be downloaded and printed from here: [MS Word.docx format] or [PDF format].

Membership form is here.

Please complete both the forms and mail them with your payment to:
